We have become a society of instant gratification; we are
bombarded with marketing and advertising campaigns that will supposedly
provide us with the tools to achieve success in our endeavors with little
Thousands of books have been written to help us cope with
our weight, our families, our relationships, our finances, etc... Many
of us have bought a number of these books and attended seminars yet we
haven’t changed. Why? We want to change don’t we? If not,
why are we spending all this money on self-improvement books, tapes, seminars,
and audio programs just to let them rot on the shelf or in the closet?
Because it’s hard to make massive changes. However, this is where
we miss the point. We read the book or we go to the seminar and we get
overwhelmed at the amount of information that is given to us. It is all
good information, but the authors of the books or the presenters of the
seminars feel that they must give you massive amounts of information or
they aren’t giving you a fair deal. So we get “information
overload.” And what happens?
